The Multimag will gradually descale a kettle through the use of magnetised water, however a process which will take weeks or months to erode the scale completely. You can speed the process considerably by leaving fresh water from the tap in the kettle overnight. Boiling magnetically treated water will destroy the effects, so use only fresh unboiled water to leave overnight.
